Job Purpose

Working as a Process Operator, a central part of the Operations Team, responsible for providing excellence in the application of Turbine Coatings for our customers.  You could be required to work on any process within the business, on the job training will be provided.

Job Activities

Carrying out defined process steps by following the process route card and specific work instructions. Taking accountability for your actions by signing and stamping as verification of work carried out.  Processes could be for:

  1. Preparation of parts for coating using operations such as blasting and masking.
  2. Carrying out coating operations by operating equipment or processes.
  3. Cleaning and finishing operations post coating.
  • Key tasks can include, but are not limited to, loading & unloading of parts and consumables, operating machinery, monitoring machine operation, manual and automated masking operations and measuring / verifying process effectiveness.
  • You will be required to carry out checks in your area of work to ensure safe operation, which is central to TSTL values.
  • You will also be required to carry out checks in your area of work to ensure product quality is maintained to a high standard.

Other duties

  • Interpreting and adhering to “Route Card”, “Data Card” and “Standard Operating Procedure” instructions.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and calibration on equipment to the required TPM / PPM standards.
  • Maintaining levels of Cleanliness and Organisation (5s) within your working area
  • Liaising with colleagues to promote team working and to ensure a smooth flow of work.
  • Ensuring that supervision is informed of any problems or discrepancies that arise so they can be resolved.
  • Training colleagues if required to do so.
  • Understanding and working to TST guidelines and observing all policies & procedures
  • Understanding and adhering to all TST Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and requirements.
  • Understanding and adhering to all TST Quality Policy requirements
  • Working well as a team and building effective working relationships at all levels whilst also required to have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Promote and represent the Company when required, setting a good personal example at all times.
  • Be aware of, and adhere to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Health & Safety and Environmental & Quality policies & procedures, Code of Conduct / Employee Handbook.

  • Any other reasonable duties that may be required by the Company.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good organisational skills
  • To be punctual
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • An understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental working practices
  • Self-motivated, ability to work to targets
  • A basic level of literacy and Numeracy is required
  • A level of concentration is required to maintain high Quality standards

Salary and Benefits

Working a Continental Shift Pattern of 3 on and 3 off – 12 Hour Days from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm and 12 Hour Nights 6.00 pm to 6.00am the basic starting salary will be £19,119.00 with a 33⅓ % Shift Premium and Work-Related benefits.
