Job Purpose

We provide a range of cleaning services across our site to provide a clean and healthy environment. Working as part of the Site Services team, the Hygiene Operator will use a variety of equipment and cleaning supplies to ensure that the offices, meeting rooms, canteen, toilets, kitchens, stairs and outside areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition.

Job Activities:

  • Provide a high-quality cleaning service that includes tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying bins, and polishing surfaces.
  • Offices and Corridors – Dust/polish all surfaces including desks.
  • Vacuum carpets.
  • Kitchen – wipe all surfaces, sweep and mop the floors, clean sinks, taps, draining board and basins
  • Toilets – wipe all surfaces, sweep and mop the floors, clean sinks, taps, basins and clean each toilet.
  • Stairs – brush and mop internal entrance stairs and first floor stairways
  • Cleaning stock level maintenance – Keep stock of chemicals and cleaning products, re-order from stores when required.
  • Outside Areas – Bins outside canteen, smoking area bins, ash trays and floor sweep
  • Litter Picking
  • Must keep cleaning items separate and understand cross contamination

Skills and Knowledge:

  • The ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision
  • Performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
  • Clean, designated facility areas including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom and locker rooms.
  • Restocking supplies from stores and taking control of the cleaning function
  • Excellent handwriting skills.
  • Carry out special cleaning tasks as required.
  • Notify management of deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff and engage with the workforce
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Able to handle floor scrubbing machines and polishers.

Salary & Benefits

Working a Shift Pattern of 3 days on and 3 days off – 12 Hour Days from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm the starting salary will be £20,235 with a 17½ % Shift Premium and Work-Related benefits.
