An exciting opportunity has arisen to join TST as a Production Manager. We’re always looking for individuals that can bring fresh and innovative thinking with fresh idea and imagination with the commercial ability to manage people as we are now experiencing a period of growth this role will join a team of Production Managers each responsible for their own cell.

Purpose:

Accountable for ensuring a safe, high performing business area which optimises its resources to deliver both internal and external customer expectations whilst operating in a demanding environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for a cell & the delivery of KPI performance across the score card for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People.
  • Deliver capable manufacturing processes which delivers customer requirements for Quality, Cost, Delivery.
  • Accountable for defining and delivering cell continuous improvement plans and driving a Lean toolkit.
  • Main point of escalation for any cell issues
  • Accountable for people leadership of the cell team including effective deployment of people processes, communication and creating a high performing team.
  • Promoting a culture of Go-Look-See to support problem solving.  Focus upon identifying and addressing root cause and challenging inadequate solutions.  Coaching team members in effective problem-solving skills.

  • Understand the breadth of business KPIs and developing plans to meet these targets and improvement plans to deliver future business requirements.

  • Strong organisational, time and project management skills to ensure timely completion of projects and delivery of customer requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with good understanding of Load and Capacity planning, production planning and inventory management.

Delivery:

  • Guiding and motivating teams to hit business goals or objectives, helping individuals to prioritise their work, and recognising when plans need to be adapted.
  • Identifying when not meeting required targets, identifying improvement actions, and ensuring standardisation is applied (wherever possible).
  • Leveraging capability or ideas across the team to best deliver results of KPIs or improvement plans.
  • Maintaining the focus on achieving results (e.g. KPIs) even during times of uncertainty or change.
  • Works & engages with Stakeholders/Customers expectations and can give clear and effective feedback.

Problem Solving:

  • Promoting a culture of Go-Look-See to support problem solving.
  • Focus upon identifying and addressing root causes and ensuring adequate solutions.
  • Able to analyse and evaluate data to implement appropriate actions or plans.
  • Helping teams to understand the business implications of actions and challenging when they may not align to business priorities whilst ensuring they make clear and timely decisions.
  • Stating your views clearly and confidently even in conflict situations.
  • Always advocating for good HSE, Quality and People policies.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary: £47,000 – £61,000

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week 7:00 – 15:30
