This is a permanent role situated on Sherwood Business Park in Annesley, Nottingham.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing business. As a Quality Engineer you will coordinate both internal and external quality activities to ensure the accredited systems are maintained and function objectives are met.
This is an integral role that acts as the first point of contact for internal and external quality concerns. Drawing on your knowledge and experience, you will work to ensure customer’s specifications and requirements are met, whilst maintaining company standards.
Drive compliance to aerospace industry standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), whilst embedding Best Practice through robust processes to control or minimise operating risks, and contribute to business continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:
- To lead investigations such as PIR, 8D and NCR, and facilitate internal investigations using the appropriate quality tools
- Manage non-conformance, taking appropriate action
- Calibration control
- Maintenance of work instructions & pro-formas including issuing updates and withdrawal of outdated instructions
- Demonstrate an awareness of QMS and working with all internal and external stakeholders to support resolution of QMS issues
- Compile training material and deliver to key stakeholders (internal and external)
- Present material at internal business reviews to senior management team
- Represent the Quality function at meetings where customers, supplier and business leaders are present
- Lead audits & drive external NCRs to conclusion
- Lead a key BPD (business plan deployment) objective working cross functionally representing the Quality function
- Leads cross-functional improvement projects, influencing key stakeholders
- Influences improvements to Quality KPI performance
- Resolves customer issues through the robust application of problem resolution tools and methodologies
Required Skills & Attributes
- Excellent communication skills, confident in liaising with colleagues to promote team working and to ensure a smooth flow of work.
- Work effectively as part of a team and build effective working relationships at all levels of the business.
- Proven experience managing complex projects and proactively resolve issues
- Knowledge of practical experience working with RCA and Quality Tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous accountability for quality documents; including the creation, review and approval.
- Auditing experience
- Knowledge and experience working with ISO9001/AS 9100
Salary & Benefits:
Salary: Competitive £28,000-£56,000
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, 8:00am – 16:15pm.
