Job Purpose:

 As the Quality Engineer reporting to the Quality Manager you will coordinate internal / external technical and quality activities within the business to ensure that accredited systems are maintained and objectives are satisfied.

This is an integral role that is recognised as first point of contact for internal/external quality concerns. Using your knowledge and experience, you will help ensure that company standards and our customer’s specifications and requirements are met in full.  The role also aims to ensure the requirements of the industry standards (AS9100, NADCAP) and the Quality Management System (QMS) are fulfilled. Embedding Best Practice through robust processes to control or minimise operating risks and contribute to business continuous improvement.

Job Activities:

  • Supporting investigations (e.g. PIR/ 8D/ NCR)
  • Demonstrable experience in conducting Quality investigations & non-conformance management.
  • Control of drawings
  • Calibration control
  • Supplier document (SDRO) checks
  • Raising purchase requisitions
  • Archiving and retrieval of route packs
  • Archiving and retrieval of processing/ business records
  • Control of Quality indices
  • Stamp control
  • Issue and withdrawal of work instructions & pro-formas
  • Demonstrating awareness of QMS and working with all internal and external stakeholders to support resolution of QMS issues.
  • Compiling training material
  • PLH checks
  • Compiling and supporting compilation of material for Management Reviews
  • Quality Good Spots logging and closing
  • Demonstrating a positive attitude towards improvement activities
  • Aware of BPD and how personal objectives feed into business aims
  • Demonstrating knowledge of Quality KPIs
  • Recertification
  • C of C amendment
  • General awareness of customer-related Quality issues

Other duties:

  • Liaising with colleagues to promote team working and to ensure a smooth flow of work.
  • Understanding and working to TST guidelines and observing all policies & procedures
  • Understanding and adhering to all TST Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and requirements.
  • Understanding and adhering to all TST Quality Policy requirements
  • Working well as a team and building effective working relationships at all levels whilst also required to have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Promote and represent the Company when required, setting a good personal example at all times.
  • Be aware of, and adhere to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Health & Safety and Environmental & Quality policies & procedures, Code of Conduct / Employee Handbook.
