Job Purpose:

A core member of the stores and material handling team you’ll be ensuring that materials are correctly managed and handled to ensure accurate and reliable stock records. Doing audits, perpetual inventory counts, stock take and general household duties you’ll make sure that quality standards are high and issues are kept to a minimum.

Job Activities:

  • Receipt of and inspecting parts from the customer, allocating to works orders and releasing into production.
  • Completion of works orders to enable invoicing and the returning of finished parts to customer.
  • Sub-contracting of parts for third party processing when required
  • Control of consumables receipts including checking of deliveries, receiving via ERP system, putting into stock or arranging for collection by the requestor as required
  • Issuing of stock requisitions to the factory and accurately issuing the stock via ERP system to ensure reordering when required.
  • Stock management including correctly locating stock items, stock counting, stock rotation and shelf life management, awareness of shortages and keeping the storage areas in good order.
  • Handling of items for returning to suppliers
  • Responsible for correct and accurate usage of computerised planning system for goods receipt, despatch and stock movements.
  • Have a thorough awareness of the stores department’s protocols and applicable Health & Safety requirements.
  • You will be required to carry out checks in your area of work to ensure safe operation, which is central to TST values.
  • You will also be required to carry out checks in your area of work to ensure product quality is maintained to a high standard.

 

Other duties:

  • Interpreting and adhering to “Route Card”, “Data Card” and “Standard Operating Procedure” all examples of written instructions.
  • Maintaining levels of Cleanliness and Organisation (5s) within your working area
  • Liaising with colleagues to promote team working and to ensure a smooth flow of work.
  • Ensuring that supervision is informed of any problems or discrepancies that arise so they can be resolved.
  • Training colleagues if required to do so.
  • Understanding and working to TST guidelines and observing all policies & procedures
  • Understanding and adhering to all TST Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and requirements.
  • Understanding and adhering to all TST Quality Policy requirements
  • Working well as a team and building effective working relationships at all levels whilst also required to have the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Promote and represent the Company when required, setting a good personal example at all times.
  • Be aware of, and adhere to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Health & Safety and Environmental & Quality policies & procedures, Code of Conduct / Employee Handbook.

  • Any other reasonable duties that may be required by the Company.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good organisational skills
  • To be punctual
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • An understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental working practices
  • Self-motivated, ability to work to targets
  • A basic level of literacy and Numeracy is required
  • A level of concentration is required to maintain high Quality standards
  • Good computer skills, familiar with Microsoft Office
  • FLT/PPT Licences advantageous but not essential

Salary and Benefits:

Working a Continental Shift Pattern of 3 on and 3 off – 12 Hour Days from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm and 12 Hour Nights 6.00 pm to 6.00am the basic starting salary will be £25,486.00 (inclusive of a 33⅓ % Shift Premium) which will increase after successful completion of training.  There are defined development opportunities identified through the Company Operator Role Structure to reward and recognise progression of skills.
