Our Occupational Health team brought energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of fresh fruit to the back of the large canteen for our Pedal-Powered Smoothie Challenge, and it turned out to be one of our most successful wellbeing events yet.
On the 15th, 16th, 21st, and 22nd of July, colleagues across the organisation hopped on our stationary smoothie bikes, pedalled for just two minutes, and powered their way to a delicious free drink. Not only did everyone walk away with a smoothie made by their own pedal power, but each participant was also entered into a draw to win a brand-new blender.
But this wasn’t just about the drinks, it was about our movement and health. Even a short burst of cycling offered immediate benefits, including:
- Increased energy and mental alertness
- A boost in mood through gentle physical activity
- A chance to break up some sedentary routines
- A nutritious, feel-good reward packed with vitamins and fibre
The turnout exceeded our expectations, with queues forming during busy lunch hours and plenty of laughter as colleagues encouraged one another to pedal faster. The atmosphere was vibrant, communal, and full of positive energy from everyone involved.
We’re thrilled with the success of this initiative and grateful to everyone who took part.
